Synopsis

With the aim of providing some brushstrokes of the “cultural atmosphere” of the period and in view of the elaboration of cultural cartographies of spaces of the time, we approach the experience of artists who ventured into activism, linking art and politics and mobilizing areas of local culture. The route proposed to the reader traverses institutions, militant artists, individual and collective trajectories of scarcely explored characters and spaces of the city of Mendoza identifiable with these records.
In this mosaic of investigations we can see that the culture of Mendoza in the '70s questioned the rules of instituted art, its circuits, and its institutions, and rescued "militant artists" who faced institutionalized practices and whose "cultural manifestos" deserve to be exhumed from a certain oblivion.
